Facebook Business Manager

Facebook Business Manager is a tool that allows you to create ads for Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and other partners of the Facebook platform. From its interface, you can not only create new campaigns, but also edit them, manage them, and conduct analyses. The platform is completely free and anyone can use it. All you need to do is create your own Fanpage (your own page), public figure profile, or community, and then fill in basic information about your business (company information, location, contact).

Configuring an advertising account

Managing ads on Facebook may not seem complicated at first, but in practice it looks a little different. Therefore, it is very important to get to know and understand well what actions can be taken using the tool. Properly configuring your account is the first step to gaining full control over monitoring your advertising channels.

Where to start?

The first step is to create a personal account on the Facebook platform. This is required to create an account in Business Manager. This step includes not only the account owner/company, but also all authorized personnel who have access to the advertising account.

Creating an account in Business Manager

As we've mentioned before, in order to create an account in Business Manager, you need to have your own personal profile. Log into it and then go to https://business.facebook.com/create. Click on the "Create an  account" button.

On the screen, a window will appear where you will need to fill in the following information:

  • company name and account name (in accordance with the official name),

  • first and last name (in accordance with the name of the personal account),

  • company email address.

After clicking "submit," an email will be sent to the address provided in the form, asking for account verification.

Adding new users

To create and manage ads on Facebook, you need to have appropriate permissions. These are naturally held by the account owner. Facebook allows adding additional users to the Manager account. Adding new people to the ad account will not give them access to your personal account or the ability to browse content on your behalf. In the following sections, we will describe the types of permissions.

Administrator

A person with administrator permissions has access to the entire Ad Manager panel. They can create, edit, and view ads. This is the highest level of permissions, which allows adding and removing other users, deactivating the entire ad account, or editing payment methods.

Advertiser

With these permissions, we have access to the generated ads and can edit them or create new ones. The permission level is granted to people responsible for co-creating ads on the account.

Analyst

The lowest level of permissions. A person with these permissions can view ads and reports. However, they do not have the ability to create, delete, or edit ads.

Adding new users to the advertising account

Once we know the types of permissions, we can move on to more specific things, namely the process of adding new users to the advertising account and assigning them permissions.

To do this, go to the Users -> People and click Add assets and select Pages.

Select the Page you'd like to share access to. Toggle on the tasks you'd like to grant to the person. Or, toggle on admin access to allow them to manage the asset and perform all available tasks.

After approval, the person we have chosen immediately gains access to the advertising account in the role we have selected.

If you want to change permissions or completely revoke access to the manager account, you must click the "Remove user" option next to the selected person.

Important:

  • You can remove yourself from a particular advertising account on your own, without having administrator privileges.

  • Permissions can only be granted to users who have a Facebook account.
